New art forms and expressions in
crystal use an innovative technique of incrustation akin to
that in fine jewelry-making, where each element is inlaid rather
than glued. Stephen P. SOMOGYI,
creative director at SWAROVSKI
for more than 20 years, keeps innovating at his unique atelier-gallery,
CRYSTAL MOSAIC, in the heart of Paris, guided by 40 years of
experience. Video of his story.

More than 500
elements make up the palette of ingredients at the disposal
of his artists, including the finest
quality faceted and polished crystal stones from
renowned suppliers in Bohemia, Venice, Ravenna, Tyrol
and the Black Forest.
The Paris atelier produces :
- surprising, lightweight jewels in stunning color combinations
- figurines for collectors of art objects
- mirrors, decorative panels in crystal, made to specification

Colors such as aquamarine, peridot,
fuschia, ruby, emerald, topaz, sapphire, amethyst, rose and
white crystal are used lavishly.
Despair not. Even though an item that
you admire may have been sold, it can be reproduced on request—of
course, with slight modifications and customized to your taste,
since no two pieces are identical.
The unique handcrafting process used at CRYSTAL
MOSAIC is so distinctive that the work cannot be compared
to any other in the world of crystal. With each stone—hand-encrusted
to ensure the highest quality—the results are truly remarkable
as well as stunning.
